The university has approximately 4,300 undergraduate and graduate students from more than 34 countries and 46 states. It is ranked by US News and World Report #1 among comprehensive universities in the South.

Since 2006 HPU has invested over $700 million dollars in all areas of its campus creating a truly immersive learning environment that is loaded with the latest technology. Over 150 new faculty have been hired since 2006 from top institutions such as Harvard, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and more adding to the quality of our students’ academic experience. With the completion of 47 new buildings, 16 building renovations and the acquisition of over 200 acres of land, High Point University’s campus has big time resources in a small caring environment. 

Campus and Community

High Point University is located in High Point, North Carolina on the east coast of the United States. The university is positioned about half way between Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA in the Piedmont Triad of NC. HPU is situated on a 340 acre beautifully landscaped campus with fountains, bronze statutes of great thinkers in history and sprawling gardens adorning its quads. The residential campus has a completely secure perimeter, making for a very safe and secure environment.

Academics

High Point University offers programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate level.  

High Point University has prestigious 3 + 2 engineering programs with both Vanderbilt (which US News ranks #17 nationally overall and ranks #34 for its undergraduate engineering program) and Virginia Tech (which US News ranks #72 nationally overall and ranks #16 for its undergraduate engineering program).  In these programs, students complete three years of study at High Point University before transferring to either Vanderbilt University or Virginia Tech University to complete their engineering degree.

HPU is also launching three new high demand graduate programs in the health sciences:

•    Masters in Physicians’ Assistant (PA) Studies in 2015
•    Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) in 2016
•    Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2017

Student Life

High Point has an undergraduate enrollment of 4000. 42% of students are male and 58% of the students are female. 93% of students live on campus all four years in beautiful university-owned housing. 

High Point University participates in NCAA Division I men’s and women’s athletics in 16 sports. In addition, there are over 100 student clubs and organizations including fraternities and sororities and 24 club sports.

Tuition and Fees

High Point University charges a flat comprehensive fee of $41,600 (2013-14) annually, which includes tuition, fees as well as room and board (meals).
